Abigail's Weight Check

What a week. We had a wonderful visit with Great Gram, but unfortunately we weren't able to do much sightseeing due to Abigail getting the stomach flu. We have watched lots of movies this week as the bug passed from Abigail,  to me, and then to Davey today. Hopefully Dave and Cassia have strong immune systems and that is the end of it.
On Wednesday Abigail had her weight check with our new pediatrician. Her weight actually went down. Last month she was 16lbs and 3oz. Wednesday she was 16lbs 1oz. Since she just had the stomach flu on Sunday and couldn't keep anything down through Monday. We aren't too worried about the drop. The Dr. said he isn't concerned at all about her weight and her continuing to drop growth curves. He said that some kids due to their nursing habits and activity will drop off their growth curve and that 95% of the time they come back up to their growth curve. Sometimes it just takes till they are 18 - 24 months. Since this weight was pretty screwed up from her being sick we are going to look at her weight at her 1yr appointment and probably do another weight check the month after that just to make sure she is doing ok. So all in all, we liked the new Dr. and have peace that Abby is growing fine.
Abigail loves playing with the toy house as much as Cassia
We have had beautiful weather here so I am hoping we are all well for the weekend and can enjoy the weather outside.
Having fun at the park!

On our walk home from the park they wanted to hold hands. Too Precious!

Walking and Reading

Abigail has not been feeling fully well this week. I believe she is teething. Her gums are super swollen in two spots. I keep thinking one has to cut through soon. I have been saying this for a couple weeks now, so Dave doesn't believe me. He will believe it when he sees it. We also got a new pediatrician and a weight check appt. for Abigail for next week. I am anxious to get another Dr's opinion on Abigail's weight gain, and to see how much she has gained. Just this week she seems to be so much heavier. Abigail is also loving pulling herself up on everything and walking holding on to things. Not too much longer and I know she will be running all over the house with Davey and Cassia.
Cassia has really been enjoying "reading" her little books. She loves looking at the pictures and making up a story to go along with it. Davey likes doing the same thing. The problem comes when their stories aren't the same and they correct each other on what the book "really" says. At Grandma and Papa's house their favorite book is What Was That. They have it memorized and when they "read" their books it is funny how many books have the same words as What Was That.
This weekend Great Gram is coming to visit. We are looking forward to it and the kids have been counting down the days till she flies in. I am sure we will have some good stories and adventures to share next week of our time with her.

Christmas Vacation

Well, last week was pretty rough. We got back from visiting family last Monday then Dave had to leave the next day for a business trip in D.C. So, I got the joy of reintroducing the words "no", "chores", and "vegetables" to the kids all by myself. It took all week, but the hard work paid off. It is so nice to have the kids back into our routine and be able to enjoy them; not just fight with them over everything. Needless to say we had such a nice vacation so I figured I would share some of the pictures we took.
We braved the rain to see the amazing Christmas Lights display.

I think Davey enjoyed sledding the most. Cassia only liked going if brother went with her. Poor Abigail didn't know what to think of it all.

Building our snowman - Cassia didn't enjoy the how cold the snow was.
We all enjoyed dinner at Rain Forest Cafe. When the gorillas started moving all kids were entertained.

Starting a Blog

Dear Family and Friends,
Thinking back over the last year it is amazing how much Davey, Cassia, and Abigail have grown. We hate that we live so far from so many of you. So, in hopes to stay better connected I figured I would start a blog to post what is going on with the kids and in our lives. My goal is to write / post pictures once a week. We love you all and miss you all so very much.
